How to use Brick
For the system to suggest the best tasks for your project, try to make brick text as descriptive as possible (but remember the limit is 70 characters).
For example, if the top brick is named “Launch Brick”, the AI is unlikely to understand that Brick is a mobile app and suggest relevant subgoals. That’s why a detailed title like “Launch a mobile app” is going to work much better.
Descriptive brick text ≠ lame project names
The AI “sees” the text of your top brick, but not the name of the project (you can change it at the top of your project). That lets you customize the project name without worrying about AI accuracy.
So, as long as you keep your brick text descriptive, don’t be afraid of going wild with your project name.
Comprehensive results may take more than one output
Our system produces up to 10 suggestions per generation. That covers most applications well, but may not be enough to break down more complex goals comprehensively.
When in doubt, simply add whatever works and hit ⟳ to get new results.
Our AI sees all the tasks that you’ve already added to the brick you’re breaking down. So it will never repeat itself and help you get comprehensive answers and find hidden gems in no time.
On the “My Projects” screen, tap “+” then type a name (70 characters max) and tap “Create.” The new project will open right away with the top brick (i.e., your goal) already set up.
Once the project is open, tap on its name (underlined) at the top of the screen to rename it.
On the “My Projects” screen, tap and hold the project you’d like to delete, then drag it to the bottom left corner, and drop it on top of the red bin.
Note: This action is irreversible. Deleted projects can not be restored.
Drag the new brick icon from the bottom of the screen and drop it on top of the brick you'd like to break down.
Tap and hold the brick you'd like to move, then drop it on top of another one. Lower-level bricks will follow automatically.
Note: Bricks cannot be moved to their subgoals.
Drag it to the bottom left corner of the screen and drop it on top of the red bin.
Note: The deleted brick’s subgoals will also be removed.
Drag it to the bottom right corner of the screen and drop it on top of the green checkmark. The brick and all its subtasks will turn green.
Drag a completed (green) brick to the bottom right corner of the screen (there’s a checkmark ✓ with a line through it) and release.
How to undo an action?
Tap the white arrow in the bottom left corner of the screen.
Tap the white arrow in the bottom right corner of the screen.
On the “My Projects” screen, tap the “Search” field at the top and start typing. As you type, only the projects satisfying the search will stay on the screen.
Note: Both project names and brick text are searched this way.
On the “My Projects” screen, drag & drop a project onto the Pin area at the bottom of the screen (this area only appears once you start dragging a project).
Unpin the same way.
Sometimes you have so much going on on your canvas, you want to free it up. For example, hide completed branches or bricks you're NOT working on right now.
Inside a project, drag & drop any brick onto the 'Collapse' area at the mid-bottom of the screen (the area only appears once you start dragging), and its subgoals will get hidden.
Unhide the same way.
Go to Settings (the cog icon in the top right corner) > Account, then tap “Log out.” After you log out, you may log into another account.
All your current projects are added to your new account or merged into your previously created account once you log in.
No data is lost.
Go to Settings (the cog icon in the top right corner) > Brick Stack, then tap “Redeem Code” at the bottom (you might need to scroll down on smaller screens).
If your subscription isn’t displayed properly, or doesn’t work, please try restoring your purchases in the Account tab in Settings.
Go to Settings (the cog icon in the top right corner) > Account, then tap the red bin icon in the top right corner and confirm.
Note: This action is irreversible. All your projects are deleted and cannot be restored — we actually delete all your data!
